One of the best parts of my job is putting a smile on the faces of the guests eating my food.

We have just had a very successful wedding anniversary party. I had not done this before and was very apprehensive, but Lewis put my mind at rest as his communication, advice, service, organisation, and especially the food was excellent. I didn’t have to worry about anything in the kitchen it just appeared, and the kitchen spotless when finished. For anyone wanting a private chef I would certainly recommend him.

We were fortunate enough to have Lewis and Kat cater for my husbands 50th birthday. A intimate celebration with close family. We were completely blown away by the quality of the wonderful food - from canapés, starters, petit fours, but the main course of filet steak was beyond delicious. I would make mention of the fact that Lewis and his team are so personable and read the room beautifully - a pleasure to have in our home - thank you and see you for my 50th!

We’ve recently enjoyed an unforgettable meal cooked by Lewis in the comfort our own kitchen. Each plate delicious and beautifully presented. We pulled together our own menu from a hard-to-choose selection of dishes. Lewis was a pleasure to have in our home, brought everything that he needed and left the kitchen spotless. If you’re struggling to get a restaurant reservation at the moment or would like to make a night at home that bit more special, then we would highly recommend you get in touch with Lewis. We’ll definitely be getting another date in the diary. We also took advantage of the meals that Lewis prepares each week and put a few in the freezer, it will beat any takeaway hands down, he overdelivers on his promise of in-home fine dining.

My wife is a real foodie and it I was struggling to find a nice experience for her 50th birthday present. I contacted Lewis to arrange for him to cook for us in our kitchen. His menu selection was superb and more importantly the quality and taste of each dish was without doubt exceptional in all respects. Lewis also took the time to explain his preparation and cooking techniques to my wife and was charming, considerate and fun to have in the kitchen. I cannot thank you enough for the food you prepared for us. The entire menu was utterly delicious. There was so much food for us, we even spoilt ourselves having seconds of a few of the bits on Sunday. All of the instructions were very simple and clear. I had no trouble following them and even managed to cook the steak to our preferred medium-rare. We had never had seaweed butter before and that was delicious. The  crispy chicken butter was great too. The canapes I could simply have had a bucket full of each – the accompanying sauces were very flavourful and went really well with them. We couldn’t believe how big the prawns were! I’m sure I’ve been to restaurants who have served that as a main meal. We love Thai food and this was just so tasty. The main was awesome and again could have had a bucket of the celeriac and truffle. The Banoffee pie was lovely – especially will the dried banana that gave it an extra texture. We couldn’t manage the petit fours until Sunday but they were light and delicious. Best Wishes for 2021. My wife very kindly organised a surprise meal for me on my birthday which was delivered to us in Lockdown. I was intrigued as to what to expect and was absolutely delighted with the meal created by Lewis. The tapas dishes are varied, bursting with flavour and each memorable in their own way. Our particular favourites were the Chicken Tagine, Truffle Mac and Cheese and the Chocolate Orange dessert. This really is fine dining in the comfort of your own home and I cannot recommend Lewis highly enough.

Lewis recently delivered a 4 course fine dining menu to us as part of my husbands 40th birthday celebrations. I initially booked him to cook in our home but we needed to switch to delivery due to lockdown measures. Lewis was really communicative right from the start and his menu choices were fantastic. The food was delivered with simple instructions to finalise the preparations and I was a little concerned I wouldn’t be able to do his food justice, however it was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Every course was delicious, clearly top notch ingredients and portion sizes were very generous. It made the evening really special which in lockdown is pretty difficult to do! Highly recommend and would definitely be ordering again in the future.

Thank you so much Lewis for such a fabulous meal to celebrate our son’s 21st birthday! It was all completely delicious and so beautifully presented from the amazing canapés to the incredible blood orange chocolate mousse... Last night’s supper was OUTSTANDING!
You are so clever with your flavours and the ingredients you use are of such a high quality. Everything is so beautifully presented and packaged and really well organised. You are a perfectionist! The instructions were foolproof (even for me!)
And the cheesecake.......Oh wow! We were all a bit full by that stage and initially probably not as enthusiastic about the idea of pudding as we should have been, but it was absolute heaven. So light and genius flavour combinations. Pete said it was one of the best desserts he has ever had.

Lewis and his team catered for our intimate wedding reception. We were given an amazing choice of menu options to choose from including choices for those with dietary requirements. The canapés and meal all looked stunning. Everyone passed remark on how lovely the food was. Lewis organised all of the little details including cutlery, crockery and linen, minimising the stress of tings we had to organise. Lewis’ waitressing staff were all very professional yet personable. We can’t wait to have an occasion in the future that we can have Lewis cater.

One of the best lockdown silver linings... Delicious food delivered to the doorstep by a fantastic chef. We ordered one portion of almost everything from the tapas style menu (and 2 of a few things). Shared between 4 of us and couldn’t finish it all in one session. Great ‘home (garden!) dinner party’ experience.... like a tasting menu in a top restaurant. Amazing food, minimal effort, great value. We will certainly be ordering again.

Flavour, Flavour, Flavour

That’s what you get with food cooked by Lewis Twydle

When you have the opportunity of eating the finest food cooked by a professionally trained chef you know you are in for a treat. Now don’t get me wrong, food cooked by a regular chef, or a home cook, is good enough for me. But when the food has been prepared by someone with an expert knowledge and skill, who has an understanding of how food really works, well then, it’s on another scale.

This is food cooked by Lewis Twydle. It’s cooked with love, with patience and with so much flavour it’s insane how good it tastes.

The lobster mac & cheese was rich, indulgent and full of large pieces of lobster. The wild mushroom arancini with a side of truffle mayonnaise was delicious and moreish and the tender lamb rump with accompanying lamb shoulder croquette was divine, packed with flavour and deliciously wholesome.

However, it was the chicken tagine and accompanying couscous from his Middle Eastern Tapas menu that had us talking. Honestly, we could eat this over and over again. The couscous was the best thing ever, and that’s not to take away from the other dishes as we enjoyed them all. Even my husband, who has always disliked couscous, is now a convert saying “if couscous tasted that amazing all the time I would order it every day”.  

Both the chicken and lamb tagines had so much flavour, a serious amount of flavour, a flavour we want to enjoy time and time again. Sitting in the garden, in the warm sunshine, the tagines took us to faraway places with their exotic spices and seasonings; they made us feel like we were on holiday (not on lockdown).

To round off we enjoyed the chocolate mousse, with cherry, tonka bean and homemade honeycomb. It was heavenly, indulgent but not overly rich, smooth, chocolatey and scrumptious and we loved it! We loved everything in fact; we were very happy people!

That’s what you get from a professionally trained chef; food that gives you proper flavour.  We know, without a shadow of a doubt, we will be hiring Lewis Twydle to cook for us again.

Oh. My. Word. If you live in Bucks or Herts and are looking for a way to celebrate a special occasion or are just fed up with your usual Chinese or Curry... look no further.

Lewis prepared an absolutely outstanding menu for my 40th birthday, delivered it safely, following all the necessarily guidelines , packed all the food so it was dead simple to heat up and plate out. And gave me idiot-proof cooking instructions. Each course was beyond my expectations. The price he sets is incredibly good value and my husband and I are now going to be using Lewis not just during this lock down period but also beyond.
Thank you Lewis for making my 40th birthday feel like such a special occasion in such restricting and limiting times. I am recommending you to everyone I know.

I was very excited to receive a gift to spend the day cooking with Lewis. Being just a basic cook I was quite nervous! Excellent canapés (the parmesan truffle profiteroles are one of the tastiest canapés I've ever eaten!), wonderful courses and I loved the very personal touch for my birthday dessert!

Managed to get a bit of everything from Lewis over the Christmas holidays, a really great mixture of sweet and savoury treats. Personal fave does have to be the lavender shortbreads though, they were amazing. All the family and friends over enjoyed all the goodies. Just wanted to say how impressed I am with my Christmas package . I chose the salted caramel and the raspberry white chocolate fudge . I couldn't have been happier with the outcome . Lewis catered my 40th birthday celebrations. Party size was 53 including 18 kids. The food was amazing and Lewis adapted his menu to fit certain requirements. Too many great dishes to identify a favourite but the chicken satay skewers were divine. I will definitely be booking Lewis again.
